reported by china news in chengdu on september 20 (reporter liu zhongjun): on september 20, at the signing ceremony of the 3rd western china international fair import and export expo & western china (sichuan) international investment conference, the sino-german eu standard integrated project of pig slaughtering and meat processing industry settled in meishan, sichuan province, which marked the official launch of the largest pig slaughtering and meat processing project in southwest china.
it is understood that the project is jointly constructed by german toennies group and sichuan dekon group, with a total investment of rmb 12 billion yuan (the same below). it adopts the world’s leading production technology to build a pig slaughtering, segmentation, processing, packaging and cold chain logistics distribution network in line with eu standards, which can slaughter and process 6 million pigs every year. the first phase of the project has 3 million pigs, with an investment of rmb 6 billion yuan.

andres ruff, ceo of the german toennies group, said that the meishan project is the first factory invested and built by toennies group outside europe. the reason why they choose meishan is because of its good geographical advantages and large-scale pig breeding knowledge.

as a traditional agricultural city in sichuan, meishan produced 3.39 million pigs in 2018, and built 11 standardized demonstration pig farms at the ministerial and provincial levels and 23 pig farming and breeding circulation demonstration bases. especially after dekon group settled in meishan in 2018, the production capacity under construction is 500,000 pigs, which has laid a good foundation for the implementation of this project.
it is reported that the project adopts the operation mode of “company family farm”, and adheres to self-breeding and self-cultivation, standard breeding, and combination of planting and breeding. 1,600 pig breeding units will be built in meishan, and each pig breeding unit has an annual output of 1,200 pigs and a profit of more than rmb 300,000 yuan. all feces will be recycled, which not only improves economic benefits, but also takes green development into account.
