on may 24, chen huanchun, academician of the cae and professor of huazhong agricultural university, and jin meilin, professor of huazhong agricultural university, led a team of technical experts to visit dekon group for technical cooperation exchange and discussion. wang degen, founder of dekon., hu wei, vice president of the group, and shu dingming, chief scientist, warmly welcomed academician chen huanchun and his delegation.
at the meeting, academician chen huanchun listened to dr. shu dingming's introduction to the current development status and future prospects of the group, and fully affirmed the development plans of dekon, including breeding work, pig health management, food industry, and breeding cycle model. academician chen emphasized that facing the current situation of overcapacity and low pig prices in the pig farming industry, we cannot be confused by the situation. we must seek truth from facts, follow objective laws, and formulate scientific response plans. at present, high-quality livestock and poultry breeds are not only the foundation of modernization in animal husbandry, but also a weak link that urgently needs to be strengthened in the development of animal husbandry in china. therefore, dekon needs to develop the breed quality based on the current foundation and steadily build a world-class genetic resources and breeding system.
at the same time, based on the industry situation and development, academician chen pointed out that the current situation in the pig farming industry is ultimately caused by diseases. in terms of disease prevention and control, dekon has achieved some achievements, but diseases are complex and ever-changing. in the future, it is necessary to strengthen the prevention and control of bacterial diseases, enhance the resistance of pig herds, and implement biosafety measures in place. in addition, we should also attach importance to environmental protection to make full use of manure resources and reducing production costs.
